Rooms

This page covers the four rooms that ReelBolt can use in a workflow: the edit room, the graphics room, the colour grade room and the dailies room. A room replaces one AI step with a small panel of AI specialists who discuss the work and reach one decision together. This page explains what each room does, when to use one, which plans include them, why they cost more than a single step, and which built-in templates already use them.

What a room is

A single step asks one AI agent to make a decision, such as which parts of a video to keep. A room asks a panel instead. The panel members take turns to discuss the material, and a director then writes one final decision in the same form a single agent would. The rest of the workflow handles that decision in the same way as before.

If a panel cannot finish its work, the room falls back to one agent for that step by default, so the run still completes.

Rooms are not on every plan. The plan table in Plans and credits shows which plans include them.

Edit room

The edit room is a panel of AI editors. They discuss the analysed footage, with one editor focused on pacing, one on the story and one on craft, and a director decides what to keep.

Use it when you want a considered edit of a long recording, such as a talking-head take or a screen recording, and a single editor's first choice is not good enough.

Graphics room

The graphics room is a panel of AI artists. One plans the layout, one the timing, one the copy and one the insert of screen content. A director decides which titles, lower-thirds and callouts go where, and draws them.

Use it when the video needs several titles or callouts that must fit together, and you want the planning to consider the whole picture rather than one graphic at a time.

Colour grade room

The colour grade room is a panel of AI colourists. They discuss the measured colour of each shot, and a director chooses one look for the whole video. The look is one of None, Warm, Cool, Filmic, Vibrant, Muted or Mono, at a strength of Subtle, Normal or Strong.

Use it when the footage has mixed lighting or colour and you want one consistent look across the whole edit.

Template: Footage edit with a colour grade.

Dailies room

The dailies room is a panel of AI judges. It works on generated video that has several takes of each planned clip. The judges compare the takes of each shot, and a director picks the best take for each shot. A shot the room leaves undecided keeps its first take.

Use it when you have generated b-roll and want the strongest take of each clip rather than the first one, at the cost of making more than one take.

Rooms cost more than a single step

A room makes many AI calls, because each panel member speaks several times before the director decides. A run that uses a room therefore uses more credits than the same run with a single step in that place. The estimate before the run includes the room's cost, so you can see it before you start (see Reading the estimate).

Use a room where its extra care is worth the extra credits. For a quick draft, a single step is usually enough.

Which plans include rooms

Not every plan includes the rooms. Check the plan table in Plans and credits, or open Settings → Plan and billing to see your plan. If your plan does not include a room, the template that uses it cannot run on your workspace until you move to a plan that does.
